Is it necessary to make an appointment to talk to a kitchen designer? A. Our doors are open to everyone! You will always be welcome to come by and talk to us about your project. However, to get the attention that you require, it's best to make an appointment for a free in-home consultation. Q. How long does it take to design a kitchen? A. The exact time depends on the complexity and size of the project. But with our computer design system, you will be able to see how your kitchen will look before we start. We can also make any revisions right there on the spot. Q. Do you do flooring, countertops or lighting? A. Yes! We are your one stop shop. We know first hand how involved a remodeling project can be. So we have tried to take the worry out of your experience and will make sure everything is done correctly, professionally and on time! Q. Do you have samples? A. Yes, NFKS offers a large variety of products from door styles, door finishes and colors, countertops, and flooring. All you need to do is set an appointment with one of our designers for a free in-home consultation, and you can check out samples to see what they look like in your home. Q. What if I'm overwhelmed by all the choices? A. Anyone can be overwhelmed by the many choices available. Go back to the basics - the original wish list - and add new ideas that you like and eliminate ideas that you have decided against. Your professional showroom consultant will be happy to guide you every step of the way. Q. Do you come out to my house and give me ideas? A. Yes, however, it is important to collect pictures from magazines so our designers have a rough idea on your style and colors you like. One of the designers will be scheduled to your home and will bring their creative minds, design your new kitchen, finalize your choices, measure your existing kitchen, prepare a written proposal and a firm price. Q. How much will it cost to remodel my kitchen? A. The price for a new kitchen will be affected by the size of your kitchen, what features it includes, structural changes and materials you choose. We encourage you to visit our showroom to identify the cabinet options (wood species, countertop type, etc.) that you like, and then speak with one of our qualified professional designers. Our kitchen pros can help you determine your investment based on your needs and wants, then help you add or subtract options based on your budget. We guarantee our prices! Q. If I’m remodeling, does it make sense to re-do the kitchen I have while keeping the same cabinet boxes? A. In some cases, yes. If the cabinet boxes are in good condition and the layout of the kitchen works well, then a refacing your existing kitchen might be right for you. NFKS will be happy to come to your home to do a free kitchen assessment that will help you determine if refacing is a good option for you. Q. What about payment and or financing? A. Do you keep the jobsite clean? A. Construction is dusty and dirty. NFKS will make an honest effort to keep the dust contained by enclosing the working space with heavy plastic. Our project manager will ensure the area is clean of dust and debris by sweeping and/or vacuuming and place all construction debris in a predetermined place or container at the end of every day. Q. Do you have references? A. Yes, we have over 6,000 local satisfied customers Q. Do you come out to verify my measurements? A. Yes. One of our in-house Engineers will be scheduled to take on-site measurements and order the materials that are needed for your project per your approval. Q. What brands do you carry? A. We have access to all brands. Q. Do you use subcontractors? A. All cabinet and carpentry work is done by our employees. You will be assigned a Project Manger/Installer who will be on-site for the duration of the project. They will coordinate specialty licensed subcontractors such as electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning. Q. What about my appliances? A. Keep or replace? That is a decision that you will have to make. If you are buying new, it is important to let your designer know the actual size of the appliances as these dimensions will impact the placement of cabinetry.
